Your doctor or nurse will administer Nitroject (Nitroglycerin) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Headaches or symptoms of low blood pressure such as weakness or dizziness, particularly when getting up suddenly from a sitting or lying down position, may result from taking too much nitroglycerin. In addition to its desired action, Nitroject (Nitroglycerin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, low blood pressure, syncope (temporary loss of consciousness caused by a fall in blood pressure). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to nitroglycerin, other nitrates or nitrites (similar agents), or any component of the formulation, concurrent use with phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors (drugs used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction: Avanafil, sildenafil, tadalafil, or vardenafil), concurrent use with soluble guanylate cyclase stimulators (used to treat severe pulmonary arterial hypertension: a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in your lungs and the right side of your heart), acute circulatory failure or shock (the clinical expression of circulatory failure that results in inadequate cellular oxygen utilization), early myocardial infarction (heart attack). Taking Nitroject (Nitroglycerin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
