Description
PDP Desonide (Desonide) is a topical corticosteroid agent. It is typically used to help relieve redness, itching, swelling, or other discomfort caused by skin conditions. It may also have other uses.
Additional information
PDP Desonide (Desonide) is typically used two to three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Use on your skin only. Don't use it on your mouth, nose, and eyes. WARNING: When desonide is used over large areas for prolonged periods and under dressings that don't breathe, it is possible that enough medication will absorb into the bloodstream to cause unwanted side effects. Therefore, it is advisable to use desonide for brief periods only and to stop using it as soon as the problem clears. Using too much of this medicine or using it for a long time may increase your risk of having adrenal gland (glands that produce a variety of hormones) problems. The risk is greater for children and patients who use large amounts for a long time. In addition to its desired action, PDP Desonide (Desonide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause upper respiratory tract infections (coughing, runny nose, sneezing and throat pain), cough, application site burning, viral infection. It may cause increased blood pressure, headache, hyperglycemia (high blood sugar level). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to desonide or any component of the formulation. Taking PDP Desonide (Desonide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with PDP Desonide (Desonide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
