Description
Perichlor (Chlorhexidine) is an antimicrobial agent. It is typically used for gingivitis (common and mild form of gum disease) treatment. It may also have other uses.

Perichlor (Chlorhexidine) is typically used twice daily (morning and evening). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Swish rinse and expectorate after rinsing, do not swallow. Use in the morning and evening after brushing teeth. Following administration, do not immediately rinse with water or other mouthwashes, brush teeth, or eat. WARNING: Staining of oral surfaces (teeth, tooth restorations, dorsum of tongue) may occur. In addition to its desired action, Perichlor (Chlorhexidine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause change in taste, irritation of the gums and other areas in the mouth It may cause shedding of skin from mouth It may cause staining of teeth, dentures, fillings Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine or any component of the formulation Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Perichlor (Chlorhexidine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
