Description
PMS Ipratropium (Ipratropium) is a bronchodilator. It is typically used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining that carries air to and from your lungs) and emphysema (damage to the walls of the air sacs (alveoli) of the lungs). COPD is chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs. It may also have other uses.
Additional information
PMS Ipratropium (Ipratropium) is typically given every 6 to 8 hours. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Remove the unit dose vial from foil pouch and squeeze the contents into the nebulizer reservoir. Connect the nebulizer to the compressor. Breathe deeply and evenly until all medication has been inhaled. The inhalation time is about 5 to 15 minutes. Clean the nebulizer after use. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma (high pressure inside the eye) as PMS Ipratropium (Ipratropium) may further increase eye pressure. Use with caution in patients with prostate hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate) or bladder neck obstruction, may cause urinary retention (inability to completely empty the bladder). Ipratropium alone should not be used to relieve an asthma attack since it works slower than other types of medications used for asthma attacks. In addition to its desired action, PMS Ipratropium (Ipratropium) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, dizziness, or blurred vision. It may cause bronchitis (inflammation of the lining that carries air to and from your lungs), sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses), or exacerbation of COPD (when the symptoms become much more severe). It may cause constipation, indigestion, nausea, cough, or altered sense of taste. It may cause nervousness, hoarseness, or trembling. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Ipratropium, atropine (and its derivatives), or any component of the formulation. Taking PMS Ipratropium (Ipratropium) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with PMS Ipratropium (Ipratropium) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.PMS Ipratropium (Ipratropium)
