PMS Prednisolone (Prednisolone)'s dosage depends on the condition (5 to 60 mg/day). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Use an oral syringe to measure each dose of the liquid, as it gives a more accurate measurement than household teaspoons. If the medication is to be given once daily, it is best to give it in the morning. Take prednisolone with food to avoid stomach upset.
WARNING: Use with caution in patient with cardiovascular (heart) problems. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar level). Use with caution in patients with gastrointestinal (stomach and intestine) diseases. Use with caution in patients with myasthenia gravis (disease characterized by weakness and rapid fatigue of any of the muscles under your voluntary control). Use with caution in patients with osteoporosis (a disease that weakens bones to the point where they break easily). Use with caution in patients with a history of seizure disorders (is a central nervous system disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal). In addition to its desired action, PMS Prednisolone (Prednisolone) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause irregular heartbeats, red face, hypertension (high blood pressure), joint and muscle pain. It may cause headaches, insomnia (difficulty falling asleep), blurred vision, signs of increased blood sugar (e.g., fruity breath odour, increased thirst, increased need to urinate)
It may cause increased appetite, nausea, weight gain, skin rash, headache, stomach pain, mood changes. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to prednisolone or any component of the formulation, systemic fungal infections (an overgrowth of fungi in or on the body).
Taking PMS Prednisolone (Prednisolone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
