Description
Rythmodan (Disopyramide) is an antiarrhythmic agent. It is typically used to treat certain types of abnormal heartbeats. It may also have other uses.

Rythmodan (Disopyramide) is typically used four times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take it with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution or avoid in patients with heart failure (a condition that develops when the heart doesn't pump enough blood). Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment. In addition to its desired action, Rythmodan (Disopyramide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, diarrhea, drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, urinary retention It may cause dry eyes, nausea, vomiting, bad taste in the mouth, skin rash. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to disopyramide or any component of the formulation, cardiogenic shock (a serious condition that occurs when your heart cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to the brain, kidneys, and other vital organs), pre-existing second- or third-degree heart block (a delay in the normal flow of electrical impulses that cause the heart to beat), congenital long QT syndrome (a heart rhythm disorder). Taking Rythmodan (Disopyramide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Rythmodan (Disopyramide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
