Description

Sandostatin (Octreotide) is a somatostatin analogue agent (drug that stop your body from making too many hormones). It is typically used to treat acromegaly (a condition caused by increased levels of growth hormone (GH). GH helps your body used energy and build bones, muscles, and tissues). It is also used to reduce flushing episodes (redness of the skin together with a sensation of warmth or burning) and watery diarrhea caused by certain types of tumors (vasoactive intestinal polypeptide secreting tumors, metastatic carcinoid tumors). It may also have other uses.
