Description
SDZ Amikacin (Amikacin) is an antibiotic. It is typically used to treat certain types of bacteria that cause infections in the abdomen, blood, bones, joints, lungs, and urinary tract. It may also have other uses.

SDZ Amikacin (Amikacin)'s dosage depends on the condition/body weight. It is given as a shot into a muscle or as an infusion into a vein over a period of time. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer SDZ Amikacin (Amikacin) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with pre-existing hearing impairment. Use with caution in patients with hypocalcemia (low blood calcium level). Use with caution in patients with neuromuscular disorders (group of disorders that all involve injury or dysfunction of nerves or muscle). Use with caution in patients with pre-existing kidneys insufficiency. In addition to its desired action, SDZ Amikacin (Amikacin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, injection site reactions (redness, swelling, and pain), nausea. It may cause neurotoxicity (damage to the brain or peripheral nervous system), nephrotoxicity (renal disease or dysfunction), auditory ototoxicity (hearing problems). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to amikacin, other aminoglycosides, or any component of the formulation. Taking SDZ Amikacin (Amikacin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with SDZ Amikacin (Amikacin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
