Description
SDZ Glimepiride (Glimepiride) is an antidiabetic agent. It is typically used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control by adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It may also have other uses.

SDZ Glimepiride (Glimepiride) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer once daily with breakfast or first main meal of the day. Glimepiride tablets should be swallowed whole with approximately ½ glass of liquid. Do not chew or crush SDZ Glimepiride (Glimepiride). WARNING: Use with caution, elderly patients are more likely to develop hypoglycemia (low blood glucose). In addition to its desired action, SDZ Glimepiride (Glimepiride) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause an abnormal taste in mouth, dizziness It may cause hair loss, headache It may cause mild nausea or vomiting It may cause weakness and weight gain Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to glimepiride, any component of the formulation, or sulfonamides (sulfadiazine, sulfamethizole, sulfamethoxazole, sulfasalazine, sulfisoxazole) Taking SDZ Glimepiride (Glimepiride) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with SDZ Glimepiride (Glimepiride) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
