Description

SDZ Naloxone (Naloxone) is an antidote agent (an antidote is a drug that neutralizes the effects of another drug or a poison). It is typically used in an emergency situation to treat a possible opioid (a substance used to treat moderate to severe pain) overdose by adults or childs. It may also have other uses.

SDZ Naloxone (Naloxone)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer SDZ Naloxone (Naloxone) to you in a hospital or clinical setting.
WARNING: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems. Use caution in patients with history of seizures (a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain).
In addition to its desired action, SDZ Naloxone (Naloxone) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause hot flushes (sudden feeling of warmth in the upper body), injection site reactions, nausea, vomiting.
It may cause body pain, sweating, tachycardia (fast heart rate), increased blood pressure. It may cause breathing problems, runny nose, sneezing.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to naloxone or any component of the formulation. Taking SDZ Naloxone (Naloxone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
