Description
SNS Almotriptan (Almotriptan) is antimigraine agent. It is typically used to treat migraine (recurrent headaches that are moderate to severe) by adults and in adolescents who are at least 12 years old. It may also have other uses.

SNS Almotriptan (Almotriptan) is typically used as a single dose, if the headache returns, repeat the dose after 2 hours, no more than 2 doses within a 24-hour period (Maximum: 12.5 mg/dose, 25 mg per 24 hours). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug without regard to meals. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patients with sulfonamide allergy. In addition to its desired action, SNS Almotriptan (Almotriptan) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache. It may cause nausea, vomiting, sleep disorders. It may cause skin rash, dry mouth. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to almotriptan or any component of the formulation, hemiplegic migraine (form of migraine where people experience weakness on one side of their body) or basilar migraine (type of migraine that begins in the brainstem), known or suspected ischemic heart disease (a condition of recurring chest pain or discomfort that occurs when a part of the heart does not receive enough blood), cerebrovascular syndromes (a variety of conditions that affect the supply of blood to the brain), peripheral vascular disease (a blood circulation disorder that causes the blood vessels outside of your heart and brain to narrow, block, or spasm), uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure), use within 24 hours of another similar agent, use within 24 hours of ergotamine derivatives and/or ergotamine-containing medications (e.g., dihydroergotamine, ergotamine). Taking SNS Almotriptan (Almotriptan) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with SNS Almotriptan (Almotriptan) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.SNS Almotriptan (Almotriptan)
