Additional information
Synjardy (Metformin Empagliflozin)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once or twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with food. WARNING: An increased incidence of bone fractures has been observed. Empagliflozin may increase the risk of genital mycotic infections (fungal infections). Hypersensitivity reactions (severe allergic reactions) have been observed with empagliflozin. Lactic acidosis (lactic acid build up in the bloodstream, lactic acid is produced when oxygen levels become low in cells within the areas of the body where metabolism takes place) should be suspected in any patient with diabetes (high blood sugar level) receiving metformin with evidence of acidosis but without evidence of ketoacidosis (a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones. The condition develops when your body can't produce enough insulin). The risk of accumulation and lactic acidosis increases with the degree of impairment of renal function. Long-term metformin use is associated with vitamin B12 deficiency. Use with caution in elderly. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Synjardy (Metformin Empagliflozin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) and lactic acidosis (lactic acid build up in the bloodstream, lactic acid is produced when oxygen levels become low in cells within the areas of the body where metabolism takes place.) Contraindications: History of serious hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to empagliflozin, metformin, or any component of the formulation, severe kidney impairment, end-stage kidney disease, or patients on dialysis, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis (serious electrolyte disorder characterized by an imbalance in the body's acid-base balance). Taking Synjardy (Metformin Empagliflozin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or becoming pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Synjardy (Metformin Empagliflozin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Synjardy (Metformin Empagliflozin)
