Description
Tagrisso (Osimertinib Mesylate) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in adults who have a specific genetic mutation in their tumor. It works by blocking the activity of abnormal proteins that cause the cancer cells to grow and spread. This helps slow down the growth of the cancer and can improve symptoms such as shortness of breath or coughing. It may also have other uses.

Tagrisso (Osimertinib Mesylate) is usually taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may suggest a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not take more of this product, or take it more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. It can be taken with or without food. WARNING: This medication can cause inflamed or scarred lungs and death in some cases. Abnormal electrical signal of the heart can happen, as well as heart problems such as when your heart is weak and can’t pump well enough to get blood to the body. It may lead to death. In addition to its desired effect, this medication may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause back pain, changes in eyesight, cough It may cause decrease in appetite, sores inside the mouth, hair loss, headache Contraindications: Do not use this medication if you have a known allergy (hypersensitivity) to any of its ingredients. Taking this medication during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with this medication requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.
