Description

Tepadina (Thiotepa) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat cancer of the breast, ovary (female reproductive organ in which ova or eggs are produced), bladder (a hollow organ in the lower abdomen that stores urine), and certain body cavities. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Tepadina (Thiotepa)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Tepadina (Thiotepa) to you in a hospital or clinical setting.
WARNING: Use with caution in patient with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patient with renal (kidney) problems.
In addition to its desired action, Tepadina (Thiotepa) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause skin rash, pain at injection site, cytomegalovirus infection (a virus infection). It may cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, hemorrhage (bleeding). It may cause anemia (a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues), thrombocytopenia (a condition in which you have a low blood platelet count. Platelets are blood cells that help blood clot), neutropenia (a lower than normal number of neutrophils (a type of white blood cells). White blood cells are part of the immune system).
Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity (allergy) to thiotepa or any component of the formulation, concomitant use with live or attenuated vaccines (two differents types of vaccines).
Taking Tepadina (Thiotepa) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Tepadina (Thiotepa) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
