Description
Timol (Timolol) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the treatment of high blood pressure, prevention of severe headache and for the reduction of death that is due to heart attack. It may also have other uses.

Timol (Timolol) is usually taken twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Timolol may be taken with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in elderly since they are more prone to low heartbeat. Beta-blocker therapy like timolol should not be withdrawn abruptly (particularly in patients with severe heart conditions), but gradually tapered to avoid sudden increase in heart rate, high blood pressure, and low oxygen supply to the body. Timolol can cause difficulty breathing for people who have asthma and certain other breathing problems. If you have breathing problems, discuss with your doctor how Timol (Timolol) may affect your medical condition. Use with caution in patients with kidney disease and high blood sugar levels. In addition to its desired action, Timol (Timolol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause dizziness and fatigue, difficulty sleeping, headache. It may cause shortness of breath, heartburn, nightmares or vivid dreams. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity or severe allergy to timolol or any component of the formulation, heart block, slow heart rate, and other severe heart diseases, allergic rhinitis, asthma or severe chronic obstructive respiratory diseases. Taking Timol (Timolol) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Timol (Timolol) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
