Description

Toradol (Ketorolac) is a painkiller agent. It is typically used to relieve moderately severe pain, usually after surgery. It works by stopping the body’s production of a substance that causes pain, fever, and inflammation. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Toradol (Ketorolac)'s dosage depends on the weight and age. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It will be given to you by your doctor or nurse in a clinical or hospital setting. WARNING: May cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, and other neurological (brain and nerves) effects which may impair physical or mental abilities, patients must be cautioned about performing tasks which require mental alertness (e.g., operating machinery or driving). Ketorolac can cause stomach and intestinal bleeding, and/or perforation of the stomach or intestines, elderly patients at are higher risk. Avoid use in patients with active stomach or intestinal bleeding. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration of time, consistent with individual patient goals, to reduce risk of stomach side effects, alternate therapies should be considered for patients at high risk. When used concomitantly with aspirin, concomitant stomach protective therapy is recommended. In addition to its desired action, Toradol (Ketorolac) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause abdominal pain, discomfort or pain in the abdomen, nausea
It may cause liver damage, headache It may cause edema (swelling), high blood pressure, skin rash
It may cause constipation, diarrhea, stomach and intestinal bleeding, perforation, heartburn, vomiting
It may cause dizziness, drowsiness
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ketorolac, aspirin, other similar agents, or any component of the formulation, active or history of peptic ulcer disease (sores on the lining of your stomach or small intestine), recent or history of stomach or intestinal bleeding or perforation, history of asthma (a respiratory condition marked by attacks of spasm in the bronchi of the lungs, causing difficulty in breathing), allergy reactions after taking aspirin or other similar agents, advanced renal (kidney) disease, suspected or confirmed brain bleeding, abnormal tendency to spontaneous bleeding, high risk of bleeding, concurrent use with aspirin, other similar agents, probenecid, or pentoxifylline
Taking Toradol (Ketorolac) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
