Description
Trihexyphenidyl (Trihexyphenidyl) is an antiparkinsonian agent. It is typically used to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years). It may also have other uses.

Trihexyphenidyl (Trihexyphenidyl)'s dosage depends on the condition. The usual daily dose ranges from 6 mg to 10 mg daily depending on needs (taken in divided doses). Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. May be administered before or after meals (if excessive dry mouth develops, consider administering before meals unless it causes nausea). WARNING: Patients must be cautioned about performing tasks that require mental alertness (e.g., operating machinery, driving). Use with caution in patients with heart disease, including hypertension (high blood pressure). Use with caution in patients with glaucoma (eye problem characterized by increased pressure in the eye), liver impairment, renal (kidney) impairment, obstructive disease of the stomach and intestine. In addition to its desired action, Trihexyphenidyl (Trihexyphenidyl) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, flushing, nausea, nervousness, blurred vision, dry mouth. It may cause increased in heart rate, headache, skin rash. It may cause urinary retention, weakness, eye problems. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to trihexyphenidyl or any component of the formulation, narrow angle glaucoma (eye problem). Taking Trihexyphenidyl (Trihexyphenidyl) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Trihexyphenidyl (Trihexyphenidyl) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
