Description
VapoRub (Camphor (synthetic) is a cough suppressant and a topical analgesic agent. It is typically used on chest and throat to temporarily relieve cough due to the common cold. It is also used on muscles and joints to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains. It may also have other uses.

VapoRub (Camphor (synthetic) is typically used for cough suppression up to three times daily, simply rub a thick layer on your chest and throat. For muscle/joint minor aches and pains, Vicks VapoRub may be applied to the affected area no more than three to four times daily. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: For external use only, avoid contact with eyes. Do not use by mouth, in nostrils, on wounds or damaged skin, with tight bandages. In addition to its desired action, VapoRub (Camphor (synthetic) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. It may cause constipation, diarrhea, and headache. Contraindications: children under 2 years. Taking VapoRub (Camphor (synthetic) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product.
