Description
Vaseretic (Enalapril Hydrochlorothiazide) is a combination of antihypertensive agents. It is typically used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

Vaseretic (Enalapril Hydrochlorothiazide) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: This medication can cause injury and death to the developing fetus. Discontinue as soon as possible once pregnancy is detected. In addition to its desired action, Vaseretic (Enalapril Hydrochlorothiazide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause orthostatic hypotension (a form of low blood pressure that happens when standing after sitting or lying down), chest pain, palpitations (racing heart), syncope (fainting) It may cause dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, nervousness It may cause diaphoresis (excessive sweating), pruritus (itching), skin rash Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Enalapril, hydrochlorothiazide, other sulfonamide-derived drugs (sulfadiazine, sulfamethizole), or any component of the formulation, angioedema (a reaction similar to hives that affects deeper layers of your skin) related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor (similar agents), hereditary or idiopathic (unknown cause) angioedema, concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus, coadministration with or within 36 hours of switching to or from a neprilysin inhibitor (e.g., sacubitril), anuria (failure of the kidneys to produce urine) Taking Vaseretic (Enalapril Hydrochlorothiazide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Vaseretic (Enalapril Hydrochlorothiazide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
