Viskazide (Hydrochlorothiazide Pindolol)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with food or milk. Take early in day to avoid nocturia (a condition in which you wake up during the night because you have to urinate).

WARNING: Pindolol may cause bradycardia (low heart rate), electrolyte disturbances (hypokalemia (low potassium), hypochloremic (low chloride levels), hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels), and hyponatremia (low sodium levels). In certain patients with a history of gout (a painful form of joint inflammation), a familial predisposition to gout (a painful form of joint inflammation), or chronic kidney failure, gout (a painful form of joint inflammation) can be precipitated by hydrochlorothiazide. Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar). Use with caution in patients with heart failure. Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment. Bradycardia (low heart rate) may be observed more frequently in elderly patients (>65 years of age). These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning.

In addition to its desired action, Viskazide (Hydrochlorothiazide Pindolol) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may edema (water retention), insomnia, dizziness and fatigue.
It may cause nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and muscle pain.
It may cause headaches, low blood pressure and hair loss.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to pindolol, hydrochlorothiazide, any other component of the formulation, heart shock, heart block, low heart rate, kidney disease, breastfeeding and severe chronic obstructive lung disease.

Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
