Description
Vistitan (Bimatoprost) is an ophthalmic agent. It is typically used to treat hypotrichosis of the eyelashes (a condition indicated by an inadequate amount of eyelashes) by increasing their growth including length, thickness and darkness. It is also used to reduce elevated intraocular (in the eye) pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma (eye problem) or ocular hypertension (elevated pressure in the eyes). It may also have other uses.

Vistitan (Bimatoprost) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Remove makeup and contact lenses prior to application, ensure face is clean. Apply with the sterile applicator provided only, do not use other brushes or applicators. Use a tissue or cloth to blot any excess solution on the outside of the upper eyelid margin, do not apply to lower eyelash line. Do not reuse applicators, used new applicator for second eye. Applying more than once will not increase eyelash growth, eyelash growth is expected to return to baseline when therapy is discontinued. WARNING: Remove contacts prior to administration and wait 15 minutes before re-inserting. Use with caution in patients with active intraocular (in the eye) inflammation. May permanently change/increase brown pigmentation of the iris (the colored tissue at the front of the eye that contains the pupil in the center), the eyelid skin, eyelashes In addition to its desired action, Vistitan (Bimatoprost) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause eye redness or discomfort, eye itching, dry eyes, watery eyes, eyelid redness, or puffy eyelids It may cause hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth), blurred vision, eye pain Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to bimatoprost or any component of the formulation Taking Vistitan (Bimatoprost) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor. A treatment with Vistitan (Bimatoprost) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
