Description
Vpi Ethacrynate sodium (Ethacrynate) is a diuretic agent that acts on the kidneys to increase the excretion of water and sodium. It is typically used to decrease swelling caused by conditions such as cancer, congestive heart failure (a weakness of the heart that leads to a buildup of fluid in the lungs and surrounding body tissues), liver disease, and kidney disease. It may also have other uses.

Vpi Ethacrynate sodium (Ethacrynate)'s dosage depends on the condition (maximum: 100 mg/dose). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Vpi Ethacrynate sodium (Ethacrynate) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. In addition to its desired action, Vpi Ethacrynate sodium (Ethacrynate) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause confusion, fatigue, headache, pain at the injection site. It may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness. It may cause blurred vision, skin rash, abnormal hepatic function tests. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ethacrynic acid or any component of the formulation, anuria (failure of the kidneys to produce urine), history of severe watery diarrhea (liquid stools) caused by this product, infants. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
