Description
Xalacom (Latanoprost Timolol) is an antiglaucoma agent. It is typically used to treat high pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma (disease of the eye marked by increased pressure within the eyeball). It may also have other uses.

Xalacom (Latanoprost Timolol) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Wash hands prior to use. Remove contact lenses prior to administration. Separate administration of other ophthalmic (eye) agents by 5 minutes. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems. Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar level). Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use caution in patients with active intraocular inflammation (inflammation in the eye). Use with caution in patients with myasthenia gravis (disease characterized by weakness and rapid fatigue of any of the muscles under your voluntary control). Use with caution in patients with mild or moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs) and closely monitor. In addition to its desired action, Xalacom (Latanoprost Timolol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause high blood pressure, chest pain. It may cause depression, headache, eye pain. It may cause upper respiratory tract infections, inflammation of the eyelid. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to latanoprost, timolol, or any component of the formulation, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and presence or history of bronchial asthma (disease of the lungs), some serious heart problems. Taking Xalacom (Latanoprost Timolol) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Xalacom (Latanoprost Timolol) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Xalacom (Latanoprost Timolol)
