Description
Xalkori (Crizotinib) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. It may also have other uses.

Xalkori (Crizotinib) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food. If vomiting occurs after dose, administer the next dose at the regularly scheduled time. WARNING: This medication can cause serious heart, liver and lung problems. In addition to its desired action, Xalkori (Crizotinib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause bradycardia (slower heart rhythm), edema (swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in your body's tissues), headache. It may cause hypokalemia (low potassium levels), hypophosphatemia (low phosphate levels), upper respiratory tract infections (coughing, runny nose, sneezing and throat pain). It may cause abdominal pain, constipation, decreased appetite, diarrhea, skin rash, visual disturbance, fever. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to crizotinib or any component of the formulation. Taking Xalkori (Crizotinib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Xalkori (Crizotinib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
