Description
Xigduo (Metformin Dapagliflozin) is an antidiabetic agent. It is typically used as an adjunct treatment to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control by adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It may also have other uses.

Xigduo (Metformin Dapagliflozin) is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with food (to reduce stomach side effects). WARNING: May increase incidence of bone fractures, increase the risk of genital infections, patients may experience hypersensitivity (severe allergy reactions), it is recommended to stop the treatment. Metformin-associated lactic acidosis (when oxygen is low in the body lactic acid build up in the bloodstream) has resulted in death, hypothermia (low fever), hypotension (low blood pressure), and resistant bradyarrhythmias (slow heart beat). Risk factors for lactic acidosis include patients with renal (kidney) impairment, ≥65 years of age. Discontinue immediately if lactic acidosis is suspected, prompt hemodialysis is recommended. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Xigduo (Metformin Dapagliflozin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, dizziness, genital fungal infections It may cause nausea and constipation. It may cause urinary infections, coughs and high cholesterol levels. Contraindications: History of serious hypersensitivity to dapagliflozin, metformin, or any component of the formulation, severe renal: kidney impairment, patients on dialysis, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis (decreased capacity of the kidneys to excrete excess acids), severe dehydration,pregnancy, breastfeeding. Taking Xigduo (Metformin Dapagliflozin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Xigduo (Metformin Dapagliflozin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Xigduo (Metformin Dapagliflozin)
