Description
Zytiga (Abiraterone) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat prostate cancer (a gland of the male reproductive system). It may also have other uses.

Zytiga (Abiraterone) is typically used once daily, orally on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before and 2 hours after food. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (a disorder in which the body does not produce enough or respond normally to insulin, causing blood sugar (glucose) levels to be elevated), antidiabetic medication dosage adjustments may be needed. In addition to its desired action, Zytiga (Abiraterone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause high blood pressure, high sugar level in the blood. It may cause fatigue, sleeping problems, edema (swelling), skin rash. It may cause constipation, diarrhea, urinary tract infection. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to abiraterone acetate or any component of the formulation or container, females who are or may become pregnant. Taking Zytiga (Abiraterone) during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Zytiga (Abiraterone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Zytiga (Abiraterone)
