Description
Azopt (Brinzolamide) is an antiglaucoma agent. It is typically used to treat high pressure in the eye due to open-angle glaucoma (a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve) or ocular hypertension (high pressure inside the eye). It may also have other uses.

Azopt (Brinzolamide) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Shake well before use. Remove contact lenses prior to administration, wait 15 minutes before re-inserting. If more than one topical ophthalmic drug is being used, administer drugs at least 10 minutes apart. WARNING: This medication can cause temporary blurred vision. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision returns to normal. AZOPT has not been studied in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment and therefore, should be used with caution in such patients. In addition to its desired action, Azopt (Brinzolamide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause blurred vision, eye discomfort, feeling of something in the eye, headache. It may cause increased tear production, dry eyes, red eyes taste changes. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to brinzolamide or any component of the formulation. Taking Azopt (Brinzolamide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Azopt (Brinzolamide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
