Additional information
Combigan (Brimonidine Timolol) is typically applied as one drop every 12 hours. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Wash your hands and remove any contact lenses before using the eye drops. Remove the cap, tilt your head back and look towards the ceiling. With your index finger, gently pull the lower eyelid down, and apply one drop. Keep the tip of the bottle away from your eye and skin to avoid contamination. If you are using Combigan with another eye drop, the drops should be instilled at least 10 minutes apart. Wait at least 15 minutes after using Combigan (Brimonidine Timolol) before putting in your soft contact lenses. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Do not allow the dropper tip of the bottle to touch your eye or the surrounding skin as it might contaminate the tip with bacteria. Such contamination may cause severe bacterial infections (bacterial keratitis), which may damage the eye. Use with caution in patients with severe cardiovascular disease, liver or kidney disease, orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing), raynaud phenomenon (reduced blood flow to the fingers), or cerebral insufficiency (obstruction of one or more arteries that supply blood to the brain). In addition to its desired action, Combigan (Brimonidine Timolol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause burning, stinging, or irritation of the eye. It may cause a foreign body sensation of eye, or dry eyes. It may cause a dry mouth, headaches, or drowsiness. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Brimonidine, Timolol, or any ingredient found in the eye drops, reactive airway disease (when asthma is suspected, but not yet confirmed), including bronchial asthma (a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and may produce extra mucus), history of bronchial asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (a chronic disorder characterized by airflow blockage and breathing-related problems), sinus bradycardia (slow heart rate), second- or third-degree atrioventricular block (when the heart beats with an abnormal rhythm), overt cardiac failure (when the heart doesn't pump blood as well as it should), cardiogenic shock (when the heart suddenly stops pumping enough oxygen-rich blood to the body), neonates, infants, and children younger than 2 years. Taking Combigan (Brimonidine Timolol) during pregnancy may be harmful to the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. If you're planning a pregnancy, become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Combigan (Brimonidine Timolol) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Combigan (Brimonidine Timolol)
