Description

Bactigras (Chlorhexidine)s an antiseptic agent (destroys or inhibits the growth or action of microorganisms (such as bacteria)). It is typically used for the prevention of infection in skin loss lesions, including wounds, burns and ulcers. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Dressing may be changed daily. Frequency of dressing change will depend upon the nature of the wound (average: every 2 to 4 days). However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. Prior to the application of the dressing, the wound should be cleansed with Normal Saline. A single layer of Bactigras is then applied to the wound surface and covered with a secondary dressing. WARNING: should not be used on more than 10% of body area. Avoid contact with eyes, middle ear, meninges and brain. Do not use with oxidising wound cleaning agents, soap, other anionic materials, or potassium iodide. In addition to its desired action, this product may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause slight skin irritation, photosensitivity, hypersensitivity Contraindications: Known, or suspected, sensitivity to chlorhexidine.
Using this product during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
