Description
Toloxin (Digoxin) is an antiarrhythmic agent. It is typically used to treat congestive heart failure (a serious condition in which the heart doesn’t pump blood as efficiently as it should) and certain types of abnormal heart rhythms (when the heart beats too fast, too slow, or irregularly). It may also have other uses.

Toloxin (Digoxin) is typically used once daily at the same time each day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with hypothyroidism (abnormally low activity of the thyroid gland in the neck). In addition to its desired action, Toloxin (Digoxin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause skin rash, blurred vision, dizziness. It may cause gynecomastia (enlargement of a man's breasts), headache, depression. It may cause abdominal pain, anorexia (lack or loss of appetite for food), diarrhea. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to digoxin, similar agents, or any component of the formulation, ventricular fibrillation (a type of abnormal heart rhythm). Taking Toloxin (Digoxin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Toloxin (Digoxin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
