Description
Elocom (Mometasone) is a corticosteroid agent. It is typically used for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic (itching) manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses (any skin defect or lesion on the skin). It may also have other uses.

Elocom (Mometasone) is typically applied to the affected area once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Apply sparingly. Avoid application to the eyes, face, underarms, and groin (including diaper area). Do not wrap, cover, or bandage affected area. Apply thin film to affected area. WARNING: Allergic contact dermatitis can occur (a type of eczema triggered by contact with a particular substance. Eczema is the name for a group of conditions that cause skin to become dry and irritated), discontinue use if irritation occurs and treat appropriately. In addition to its desired action, Elocom (Mometasone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause burning and itching of skin, inflammation of hair follicles It may cause color changes, thinning skin. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to mometasone furoate or any component of the formulation. Taking Elocom (Mometasone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Elocom (Mometasone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
