Description
Apo Montelukast (Montelukast) is typically used for respiratory diseases. It is typically used for the relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (a condition causing sneezing, itching, nasal congestion, and runny nose), exercise-induced bronchospasm (narrowing of the airways) and the management of chronic asthma (a respiratory condition marked by attacks of spasm in the bronchi of the lungs, causing difficulty in breathing). It may also have other uses.

Apo Montelukast (Montelukast) is typically used once daily in the evening. This medicinal product is to be given to a child under adult supervision. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for your child. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. If taken in connection with food, montelukast should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after food. WARNING: Montelukast is not FDA approved for use in the reversal of bronchospasm (narrowing of the airways) in acute asthma attacks, including status asthmaticus (a severe condition in which asthma attacks follow one another without pause). The Montelukast 4 mg chewable tablet formulation is not recommended below 2 years of age. In addition to its desired action, Apo Montelukast (Montelukast) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause agitation, aggression, feeling restless or irritable It may cause anxiety, depression, confusion, problems with memory or attention It may cause stuttering, tremors, uncontrolled muscle movements Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to montelukast or any component of the formulation A treatment with Apo Montelukast (Montelukast) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
