Description
Anandron (Nilutamide) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat metastatic (cancer that has spread) prostate cancer. It may also have other uses.

Anandron (Nilutamide) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug with or without food. WARNING: Hyperglycemia (high sugar level in the blood) has been observed, use with caution in diabetic patients (disease that occurs when the blood sugar is too high) and monitor for loss of glucose (sugar) control. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment. Monitoring of the hepatic function is also recommended. In addition to its desired action, Anandron (Nilutamide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause visual disturbances, decrease in appetite, dizziness, hyperglycemia. It may cause nausea, constipation, vomiting, hot flushes (sudden feeling of warmth in the upper body). It may cause edema (swelling), dyspnea (shortness of breath). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to nilutamide or any component of the formulation, severe hepatic (liver) impairment, severe respiratory insufficiency. Taking Anandron (Nilutamide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Anandron (Nilutamide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
