Description
Perphenazine (Perphenazine) is an antiemetic and antipsychotic agent. It is typically used for the management of nausea and vomiting as well as schizophrenia (serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally). It may also have other uses.

Perphenazine (Perphenazine)'s dosage depends on the condition (usual range: 8 mg - 24 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take it with food or without food. WARNING: Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis (a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality) treated with antipsychotics are at an increased risk of death compared to placebo. In addition to its desired action, Perphenazine (Perphenazine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause bradycardia (slow heart rate), hypertension (high blood pressure), hypotension (low blood pressure), peripheral edema (swelling of lower legs or hands), tachycardia (rapid heart rate) It may cause bizarre dream, catatonic-like state (mutism (not speaking) and stupor (the state of being in a daze)), cerebral edema (brain swelling), confusion (nocturnal) It may cause diaphoresis (excessive sweating), pallor, skin discoloration (blue-gray), skin photosensitivity Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to perphenazine or any component of the formulation, comatose or patients receiving large doses of certain medications such as anti-anxiety medications, hypnotics, tranquilizers, subcortical brain damage with or without hypothalamic damage (brain damage), bone marrow suppression (immune system and blood disease), blood dyscrasias (blood disease), liver damage. Taking Perphenazine (Perphenazine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
