Description

Triad (Petrolatum Cellulose Gum Zinc oxide Dimethicone) a wound dressing paste agent. It is typically used to absorb moderate levels of wound exudate (for venous stasis ulcers, which are open wounds occurring around the ankle or lower leg, it is also used for dermal lesions/injuries, and first and second-degree burns) and help maintain an optimal wound healing environment. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Triad (Petrolatum Cellulose Gum Zinc oxide Dimethicone) is typically used as follows: For wounds with shallow depth and a clean wound bed: Re-apply Triad at least every 5-7 days or as necessary. For wounds with depth/undermining/sinus/tunnel: Change packing daily, irrigate the area to ensure that no paste residue is left in the non-visible spaces. For wounds needing autolytic debridement (breakdown, of damaged tissue at a wound site by the body's natural defence system by enzymes that digest specific components of body tissues): re-apply Triad layer every 1-3 days as needed. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Always cleanse the wound before applying Triad. Because Triad is designed for use on wet and irregular surfaces it is typically used on its own without a secondary dressing. Triad can be applied directly from the tube or by using a gloved finger. Gently spread Triad evenly over the area of application to the thickness of a dime. Triad may not always dry completely and some light staining on bed linens or garments might occur. To help prevent staining cover Triad with a dry piece of gauze.

WARNING: Use with caution on friable wound bed and/or fragile peri-wound. For undermining/sinuses/tunnels, ensure that all the paste is removed
