ComfiLAX (Polyethylene Glycol 3350) is a stool softener. It is typically used to treat constipation. It may also have other uses.

ComfiLAX (Polyethylene Glycol 3350) is typically used once daily. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Stir powder in 120 to 240 mL (4 to 8 ounces) of water, juice, soda, coffee, or tea until dissolved and administer immediately. WARNING: If you have any of these symptoms: fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or bloating, don't take ComfiLAX (Polyethylene Glycol 3350) until you talk to your doctor. In addition to its desired action, ComfiLAX (Polyethylene Glycol 3350) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause nausea, abdominal pain. It may cause diarrhea, dyspepsia (upset stomach). It may cause excessive stool frequency. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to polyethylene glycol or any component of the formulation, known or suspected bowel obstruction (a blockage that keeps food or liquid from passing through your small intestine or large intestine). When used for self-medication, do not use if you have kidneys disease unless advised by a healthcare provider. Taking ComfiLAX (Polyethylene Glycol 3350) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product.
