Rituxan (Rituximab) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia (cancer in the blood). It may also have other uses.

Rituxan (Rituximab)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Rituxan (Rituximab) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Rituximab is for IV (intravenous, into the veins) administration only. Use caution during product selection, preparation, and administration. In addition to its desired action, Rituxan (Rituximab) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause black stools, bleeding gum, swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet. It may cause blood in the urine or stools, blurred vision, body pain. It may cause chest pain, confusion, cough, difficulty with breathing. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation, patients who have or have had progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (a disease of the white matter of the brain, caused by a virus infection), patients with severe active infections. Taking Rituxan (Rituximab) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Rituxan (Rituximab) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
