Description

Akynzeo (Netupitant Palonosetron) is an antiemetic agent. It is typically used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer drug treatment (chemotherapy). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Akynzeo (Netupitant Palonosetron) is typically used as one dose before chemotherapy. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer approximately 1 hour prior to the start of chemotherapy. May be administered with or without food.
WARNING: Use with caution in elderly patients.
In addition to its desired action, Akynzeo (Netupitant Palonosetron) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause constipation, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, allergic reactions. It may cause asthenia (abnormal physical weakness or lack of energy), dyspepsia (pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to netupitant, palonosetron, or any component of the formulation.
Taking Akynzeo (Netupitant Palonosetron) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
