Description
Nevanac (Nepafenac) is an anti-inflammatory agent. It is typically used to treat swelling and pain after cataract surgery (a procedure to remove the lens of your eye and, in most cases, replace it with an artificial lens). It may also have other uses.

Nevanac (Nepafenac) is typically used three times daily to affected eye(s) beginning 1 day before cataract surgery, on the day of surgery and through 2 weeks postoperatively. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. For the eyes only. Shake well before use. Do not wear contact lenses at anytime while using this drug. WARNING: Nepafenac eye drops may increase the time it takes for your blood to clot. If you have a history of prolonged bleeding time or a bleeding disorder, discuss with your doctor how Nevanac (Nepafenac) may affect your medical condition. Some people who are allergic to aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (painkillers) also experience allergic reactions to nepafenac. People with diabetes (high blood sugar) are at an increased risk of side effects that can cause the loss of sight. Topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, including nepafenac, may slow down the healing process. If you do not experience improvement in your condition, or if your eyes become redder, more painful, or more sensitive to the light, contact your doctor as soon as possible. In addition to its desired action, Nevanac (Nepafenac) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause blurred vision, dry eyes, eye discharge, eye pain. It may cause headaches, increased tear production, itchy, nausea, sensation of something in the eye, vomiting. Contraindications: If you are allergic to nepafenac or any ingredients of Nevanac (Nepafenac), if you are allergic or sensitive to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Taking Nevanac (Nepafenac) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Nevanac (Nepafenac) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
