Description
Alecensaro (Alectinib) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (type of lung cancer) that is locally advanced and cannot be surgically removed or has spread to other parts of the body (metastasized). It may also have other uses.

Alecensaro (Alectinib) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug with food. If vomiting occurs after taking the dose, do not administer an extra dose, administer the next dose at the regularly scheduled time. WARNING: Alectinib can cause very low heart rate. If you have heart conditions with low heart rate, discuss with your doctor how Alecensaro (Alectinib) may affect your medical condition. Alectinib may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or vision changes, affecting your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing other potentially hazardous tasks until you have determined how Alecensaro (Alectinib) affects you. In addition to its desired action, Alecensaro (Alectinib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, dry skin, fatigue. It may cause bradycardia (a slower than normal heart rate), edema (swelling), hyperglycemia (high blood sugar level). It may cause hair loss, headache, nausea, rash, vomiting, weight gain. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to alectinib or any component of the formulation. Taking Alecensaro (Alectinib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Alecensaro (Alectinib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
