Description
Alomide (Lodoxamide) is an anti-allergy agent. It is typically used in the treatment of the ocular (eye) disorders referred to by the terms vernal keratoconjunctivitis, vernal conjunctivitis, and vernal keratitis (severe allergies that affects the surfaces of the eyes). It may also have other uses.

Alomide (Lodoxamide) is typically used four times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. For topical ophthalmic (eye) use only, not for injection. Wash your hands before use. To avoid contamination, do not touch dropper tip to eyelids or other surfaces when placing drops in eyes. Remove contact lenses prior to administration. Wait 15 minutes or longer before re-inserting lenses. WARNING: May cause temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances, caution patients to wait until vision clears before driving or operating machinery. In addition to its desired action, Alomide (Lodoxamide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause burning sensation of eyes, eye discomfort. It may cause foreign body sensation of eye, headache. It may cause blurred vision, lacrimation (secretion of tears). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to lodoxamide or any component of the formulation. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor. A treatment with Alomide (Lodoxamide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
