Description
Auro Alendronate (Alendronate) is an anti-osteoporosis agent. It is typically used for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis (a condition that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to break), by reducing the risk of vertebral and hip fractures. It may also have other uses.

Auro Alendronate (Alendronate) is typically used once weekly. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It should be taken first thing in the morning and more than 30 minutes before the first food, beverage (except plain water), or other medication(s) of the day. Do not take with mineral water or with other beverages. Patients should be instructed to stay upright (not lie down) for ≥30 minutes and until after the first meal of the day (to reduce swallowing tube irritation). Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Severe (and occasionally debilitating) bone, joint, and/or muscle pain have been reported during treatment. The onset of pain ranged from a single day to several months. Consider discontinuing therapy in patients who experience severe symptoms, symptoms usually resolve upon discontinuation. In addition to its desired action, Auro Alendronate (Alendronate) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause stomach pain. It may cause difficulty with swallowing, heartburn, irritation or pain of the esophagus (swallowing tube). It may cause muscle pain. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Alendronate or any component of the formulation. Patients who suffer from hypocalcemia (low blood calcium), abnormalities of the esophagus which delay esophageal emptying, inability to stand or sit upright for at least 30 minutes, or kidney disease should not use this product. Taking Auro Alendronate (Alendronate) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Auro Alendronate (Alendronate) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Auro Alendronate (Alendronate)
