Description
Azarga (Brinzolamide Timolol) is an antiglaucoma agent. It is typically used to lower high pressure in the eye and to treat glaucoma (a condition in which the pressure of fluid in the eye may be high). It may also have other uses.
Additional information
Azarga (Brinzolamide Timolol) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. If using additional topical ophthalmic preparations, separate administration by at least 5 minutes. Remove contact lens prior to administration and wait 15 minutes before re-inserting. Shake bottle well prior to administration. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) disease. Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar level). Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment. Use with caution in patients renal (kidney) impairment. In addition to its desired action, Azarga (Brinzolamide Timolol) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause blurred vision, eye discomfort, dryness, redness, eye pain. It may cause decreased blood pressure, sleep disorders. It may cause body weakness, cough, bad taste. Contraindications: if you are allergic to brinzolamide, timolol, similar agents (e.g., metoprolol, atenolol), sulfonamides (e.g., sulfamethoxazole), or any of the ingredients of the medication, if you have an extremely slow heart rate, heart failure (a condition in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood), if you have asthma (inflammatory disease of the lungs) or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a lung disease that makes it hard to breathe), if you have severely reduced kidney function, if you have too much acidity in the blood (called hyperchloremic acidosis). Taking Azarga (Brinzolamide Timolol) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Azarga (Brinzolamide Timolol) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Azarga (Brinzolamide Timolol)
