Description

Bromocriptine (Bromocriptine) is an antiparkinsonian and anti-hyperprolactinemia agent. It is typically used for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease (a progressive nervous system disorder that affects movement) along with other medications and for the treatment of high level of prolactin (prolactin causes the breasts to grow and make milk during pregnancy and after birth). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Bromocriptine (Bromocriptine) is usually given once or twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with food.

WARNING: it may be associated with memory loss, low blood pressure. Use with caution in patient with stomach bleeding and liver problems. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. 

In addition to its desired action, Bromocriptine (Bromocriptine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause constipation and nausea.
It may cause dizziness and headache.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity or severe allergy to bromocriptine, ergot alkaloids (similar agents), or any component of the formulation. Uncontrolled heart problems, lactating women.

Taking Bromocriptine (Bromocriptine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor.
