Description
Cimetidine (Cimetidine) is typically used for acidity and acid reflux. It is typically used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux). It may also have other uses.

Cimetidine (Cimetidine)'s dosage depends on the condition (usual range: 400 mg - 1200 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It is best taken with food. Swallow the whole tablet with a full glass of water. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Rare cases of reversible confusion (which goes away after stopping the medication) have been associated with Cimetidine. This effect is usually seen in elderly or severely ill patients, or in patients with renal (kidney) or hepatic (liver) impairment. Prolonged treatment (for more than 2 years) may cause vitamin B12 deficiency. Use with caution in patients with liver disease and kidney disease. In addition to its desired action, Cimetidine (Cimetidine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause swelling of the breasts or breast soreness (in both women and men). It may cause a headache, dizziness, or drowsiness. It may cause decreased sexual desire, weakness, tiredness, or hair loss. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Cimetidine or any component of the formulation. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Cimetidine (Cimetidine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
