Entresto (Sacubitril Valsartan)

Entresto (Sacubitril Valsartan) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food.
WARNING: ENTRESTO may cause angioedema (swelling beneath the skin). If angioedema occurs, discontinue ENTRESTO immediately, provide appropriate therapy, and monitor for airway compromise. Hyperkalemia (high potassium) may occur with ENTRESTO. Monitor serum potassium periodically and treat appropriately, especially in patients with risk factors for hyperkalemia such as severe kidney impairment, diabetes (high blood sugar level), or a high potassium diet. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patients with low blood pressure.
In addition to its desired action, Entresto (Sacubitril Valsartan) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause dizziness, itchiness, nausea, rash, weakness, kidney failure. It may cause hypotension (low blood pressure), cough, hyperkalemia (high potassium).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to sacubitril, valsartan, or any component of the formulation, history of angioedema (swelling in the deep layers of the skin) related to previous ACE inhibitor or Angiotensin Receptor Blockers therapy (medicines used to treat high blood pressure), concomitant use or use within 36 hours of ACE inhibitors, concomitant use of aliskiren (medicine used to treat high blood pressure) in patients with diabetes (disease that causes high blood sugar).
Taking Entresto (Sacubitril Valsartan) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
