Description
Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat mantle cell lymphoma (a cancer of white blood cells that helps fight infection), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (cancer of the blood and bone marrow, where blood cells are produced), and small lymphocytic lymphoma (a cancer that affects a type of white blood cell called a “lymphocyte”). It may also have other uses.

Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with a glass of water at approximately the same time each day, with or without food. Maintain adequate hydration during treatment. WARNING: This drug may cause dizziness, fatigue, and/or weakness, which may impair physical or mental abilities, patients must be cautioned about performing tasks that require mental alertness. In addition to its desired action, Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause high blood pressure, heart problems. It may cause bleeding problems, infections, decrease in blood cell counts. It may cause abdominal pain, constipation, decreased appetite, diarrhea. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to ibrutinib or any component of the formulation. Taking Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
