Jamp Fer Iron (Iron (Ferrous Fumarate) is an iron preparation. It is typically used for iron deficiency or iron-deficiency anemia (a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body’s tissues). It may also have other uses.

Jamp Fer Iron (Iron (Ferrous Fumarate) is typically taken as 1 capsule 1 or 2 times a day. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. This medication should be taken with water or juice on an empty stomach, 1 to 2 hours before or after meals. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking your dose. In case of stomach pain, take it with food. However, do not take it with cereals, dietary fiber, tea, coffee, eggs, or milk. Avoid taking antacids, dairy products, tea, or coffee within 2 hours before or after Jamp Fer Iron (Iron (Ferrous Fumarate) because they will decrease its effectiveness. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: This drug prevents many other drugs from getting into the body. If you take other drugs, check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if you need to take them at some other time than this drug. The administration of iron for more than 6 months should be avoided except in patients with continuous bleeding or menorrhagia (a heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding). In addition to its desired action, Jamp Fer Iron (Iron (Ferrous Fumarate) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, diarrhea, stomach cramps, or upset stomach. It may cause your stools to turn black. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to iron salts or any component of the formulation, hemochromatosis (a disorder in which extra iron builds up in the body to harmful levels), hemolytic anemia (a disorder in which red blood cells are destroyed faster than they can be made). Taking Jamp Fer Iron (Iron (Ferrous Fumarate) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Jamp Fer Iron (Iron (Ferrous Fumarate) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it.
