Description

Methacholine (Methacholine) a bronchoconstrictor agent (agent that cause narrowing of the airways). It is typically used during diagnosis of asthma (a long-term disease of the lung). It may also have other uses.

WARNING: This medicine may cause severe bronchoconstriction (constriction of the airways in the lungs) and should not be used in patients with asthma (a long-term disease of the lungs) or with breathing difficulties. In addition to its desired action, Methacholine (Methacholine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause incidences of headache, throat irritation, lightheadedness and itching. It may cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness.
Contraindications: patients with known hypersensitivity to this drug or to similar agents. A repeated challenge test on the same day is contraindicated.
Taking Methacholine (Methacholine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
