Mylan Efavir/Emtri/Teno (Efavirenz Emtricitabine Tenofovir) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer on an empty stomach, dosing at bedtime may improve tolerability of symptoms.
WARNING: Not recommended in patients with moderate or severe liver impairment. Use caution in patients with mild liver impairment. Use is not recommended in patients with renal (kidney) impairment. Use with caution in patients with a history of seizure disorders (uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain).
In addition to its desired action, Mylan Efavir/Emtri/Teno (Efavirenz Emtricitabine Tenofovir) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause abnormal dreams, high blood cholesterol level, depression, fatigue, dizziness, headache, anxiety, insomnia It may cause skin rash, high blood glucose (sugar) level
It may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, liver damage
It may cause upper respiratory tract infections (coughing, runny nose, sneezing and throat pain)
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to efavirenz, emtricitabine, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate or any component of the formulation, coadministration with voriconazole or elbasvir/grazoprevir
Taking Mylan Efavir/Emtri/Teno (Efavirenz Emtricitabine Tenofovir) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Mylan Efavir/Emtri/Teno (Efavirenz Emtricitabine Tenofovir) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. Pregnant women should not use this product (especially in the first trimester). If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
